Durga

Durga is the all powerful warrior who fights demons. A black buffalo symbolizes the demons that Durga fights. Sacrifices of buffalo, lambs, and goats are offered during the festival of Durga. Sometimes you will see Durga with the head of the demon she has killed.

Shiva's consort is also identified as the Goddess of Energy or the Goddess of Destruction.

Symbols of Durga:
Durga's mount is either a tiger or a lion. She is seen with eight or more arms. She holds various weapons, a lance to kill demons or a venomous snake.
