Some Facts about Grand Canyon
Located in North West Arizona
Over a million acres of land
At its deepest: 6,000 vertical feet
Width 4-18 miles
Length 280 miles long
Named a "World Heritage Site"
"Temples" at the Grand Canyon
Early mapmakers bestowed the title of "Temple" on several of the most majestic landforms in the canyon.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are some such peaks.
They are in signature vistas from the South and North Rims.
The Supreme Triad
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva represent all aspects of Supreme Being.
Creation, Preservation and Destruction.
Similar to Christian Trinity: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
According to the Hindu Mythology -- Vishnu in the form of a tortoise is there. A huge gigantic serpent coiled is seated on the back of the tortoise. Thereupon rests the globe the earth, of course rotating.
I bow down my head in reverence to the sage - explorer who names this formation as the Vishnu Schist. Vishnu Schist is the first foundational formation -- a kind of base -- the plinth.
It may take some time and effort to render this image but it will be a highly valuable depiction.
The image of the Hindu Amphitheater gives us a glimpse of the Indian Peninsula, a permanent pious bond of friendship between India and America preserved at this "World Heritage" site. Twin peaks west of the Amphitheater view that dominate the skyline are Confucius and Mencius Temples, yet to be photographed..
